REPLY TO THE MESSAGE YOU RECEIVED FROM OUR SYSTEM. If you didn't receive a message within 48 hours, you probably put the wrong email address in the form. Check your email address carefully and make a new submission. DO NOT WRITE TO OUR STAFF ABOUT CONFIRMING YOUR ENTRY.

"Please change my entry ..."

Simply make a new entry under the same name on the same day. The old entry will be removed within 48 hours. Do not write to our staff about changing your entry!

"Please remove my duplicate entry from a certain date ..."

It will go away automatically after 48 hours. Please do not write to us about it! If for some reason the duplicate has not disappeared after 48 hours, please let us know. Tell us the birthdate, name, e-mail address, and/or URL as they appear on the World Birthday Web. Read the rest of this document to find the correct e-mail address to use.

"I got a server error when I tried to enter my birthday ..."

Please try again. We have limited resources and time to add people to the World Birthday Web by hand. Please do not send us e-mail asking us to add your information to the database.

"I want my name removed ..."

We cannot delete your name from the World Birthday Web without knowing your birthdate. We have limited resources and time to search the World Birthday Web for any reference to an individual's name or other information.

If you'd like your name removed, kindly tell us your birthdate, your name, your e-mail address, and/or your URL as they appear on the World Birthday Web. All of this information is VERY IMPORTANT for us to remove your name, and we WON'T BE ABLE TO REMOVE YOUR NAME WITHOUT IT. Use our contact form to communicate this information to us.

Unfortunately we can't let users do this automatically because it would open up the Birthday Web to a lot of abuse. But we're always happy to remove people from the list immediately if they wish it.

"How did you get my name! I didn't put it there!"

Information for the listings is provided by users themselves and is not collected from anywhere by Boutell.Com.

There is no machine or Web robot which we run that would go out somehow to various databases of birthdays (if they even exist) and collect dates and names. The only way your name could appear on the Birthday Web is if you or an acquaintance of yours put it there.

If you didn't put your birthday in there, then someone who knows your birthday disregarded the note at the bottom of the birthday page which tells users not to add other people's birthdays!

"I got unsolicited commercial spam e-mail because I was on the Birthday Web!"

Please send us a complete copy with all headers of the message you got. Sending commercial e-mail to Birthday Web users is a violation of our copyright and we take that violation very seriously. Use our contact form to send this information.

"Can you tell me when a particular person's birthday is?"

No, we can't. We have limited resources and time to search the World Birthday Web for any reference to an individual's name or other information. And we have no plans to turn the Birthday Web into a database that outside users can search. Turning it into a "phone directory" would not only strain our web server's resources but it could also be seen as an invasion of privacy on the users' part. In short, we really prefer that the Birthday Web remain a useless novelty rather than a useful resource.

"Can users post their year of birth?"

Unfortunately, no. We think that most people would find that an invasion of their privacy or a security risk, even if it seems like a useful idea at first.

"I want to advertise ..."

Great! Check out our advertising rates and instructions. We can set up your banner on the same day you order if you use a credit card.

"I need something else ..."

Please read this entire page carefully to be sure that your question or concern hasn't already been addressed. Really. If you send us mail for a problem that is addressed here, you'll only be directed to this page again.
