What else do I need to run wusage?

If you have one of the supported versions of Unix, IBM OS/2, Windows 95 or NT, or MacOS, all you need is a web server which produces an access log file in one of several standard log file formats. If your web server is run for you by an ISP, the ISP must provide you with access to the log files, or at least to the portion of those log files that relates to your web pages. Wusage cannot do anything useful without a source of data! These acceptable log file formats are known as the "common" log file format (most servers output this), the EMWAC log file format (some versions of the EMWAC server for Windows NT output this), the Microsoft IIS log file format, the "extended log format" defined by the W3C and implemented by Microsoft IIS 4.0, and the WebStar log format used on the Macintosh. Wusage 6.0 recognizes certain variations on the common log format, including at least one variation produced by the Oracle web server. Additional fields after the regular "common log format" fields are also acceptable, and Wusage can analyze these if they are formatted properly; see the server configuration tips section for more information.
