Many different types of documents appear on every website. The Object Types (subreports) option is used to break them down into useful categories, such as "web pages", "images", "audio", "video", and so on. These then appear as separate sections of the Top Documents (documents) and Top Documents by Directory (directories) reports.
For each object type, there must be a keyword (a single word which
uniquely identifies it, such as pages, a pattern
which determines which URLs are included in the object type
(such as *.wav|*.au|*.mp3; for more information,
see patterns), a maximum number of
items to include in the subreport, or ALL
(by default, this is set to 10), and a descriptive
label (such as Web Pages).
In addition, there
are two optional flags which can be set for each object type:
folders and other. The
folders flag indicates that this object type
should also match all URLs that refer to folder home pages, such
as / and /subdirectoryname. The
other flag indicates that this object type
should match all URLs that do not match any other object type.
