14 Aug 1998: sanecgi 0.4 Released
Version 0.4 of sanecgi contains improvements relating to scanning GIFs, displaying error messages and the choice of reasonable defaults. This program provides a simple web browser-based user interface to all scanners that are supported by the SANE library. The user enters parameters such as the dimensions of the scan and the preferred graphics format. When the form is submitted, the host system generates a scanned image, which is displayed as an inline image. The form is again displayed, allowing the user to further refine the result. When the image is satisfactory, the image can be easily saved using the web browser. This allows the scanner to be used from anywhere in the office, without tying up a Windows workstation.
The sanecgi home page explains the details.
