Description: An improved version of wavplay021.tar.z play and record
commands:s: here renamed as wavplay and wavrec respectively. Error checking and messages tightened up, but the significant changes here include semaphore locking to prevent multiple wavplay processes from playing at the same time. This makes wavplay useful in /etc/rc.d startup shell scripts (and shutdown). Xplay(1) was dropped from this release. No sample.wav included. The locking facilities can be used for non sound related uses as well.
