Linux Software Map: Aspell

  • Version: .20
  • Entered-date: 1998-10-09
  • Description: Aspell is a totally new spell checker that was designed from scratch which I created because I couldn't find any Open Source spell checkers that does a good job of suggesting possible replacement words. Based on my informal tests it seams to work better than Netscape 4.0 spell checker but quite as well as the spell checker provided with Microsoft Word 97. It can function as both an ispell replasment and as a powerful C++ library.
