Linux Software Map: JuJu - (batch) uudecoder and Base64-decoder + encoder

  • Version: 0.3.0
  • Entered-date: 1998-06-06
  • Description: A (batch-) decoder for files that are uuencoded, Base64-encoded, BinHex- or xxencoded. Also handles Quoted-Printable encoded messages. It handles large amounts of data that can consist of any number of files containing single or multi-part postings in any order. It automatically detects the encoding method and merges mutiple parts of the same file together. It also reads data from stdin or names of files from programs like find(1). It also directly reads GNUzipped files (with correct extension). The decoding of GNUzipped and normal files and stdin can be combined on one commandline. An (optional) xforms GUI is included, but in an earl stage. A uuencoder called juen is included that automatically encodes in all formats except BinHex and mails or posts on the commandline. It's a "real life" decoder, which means that it is developed and tested with the data that is actually posted to usenet groups.
