WHERE:
Demonstration Area
Balbo and Michigan Ave.
Chicago, IL

WHO: INFACT is a national corporate watchdog organization headquartered in Boston. INFACT's purpose is to stop life-threatening abuses by transnational corporations and to increase their accountability to people around the world. INFACT is challenging corporate influence through its Tobacco Industry and Hall of Shame Campaigns, building on the successes of the GE Boycott which pushed General Electric out of the nuclear weapons business, and the Nestle Boycott which brought about significant reforms in Nestle's aggressive marketing of infant formula in developing countries. INFACT is non-partisan and does not support the election or defeat of any political party or candidate.

WHY: Through the FDA, the current administration has responded to public demand to protect US kids from tobacco. Yet the tobacco industry's deep pockets are financing an onslaught of opposition. Under the guise of its Kraft subsidiary, Philip Morris is a key sponsor of the Democratic National Convention. INFACT's giant slide show challenges corporate interference in democracy, and exposes the hypocrisy of cracking down on tobacco at home, while assisting Philip Morris and other tobacco giants in pushing tobacco internationally.
